4 Tips for your New Year Goals

Common, let’s face it. Every year on 31 December we party hard and spit out unrealistic and unachievable New Year resolution. Jovial face, a sophisticated tone, lightening eyes and the confidence to bring the world at feet, yes resolution pumps our ego waiting for bubble to explode.

You might work towards goal endlessly for a few days until the reality whispers in your ears. The same routine is followed again, putting your New Year resolution in cold storage. This same event has been occurring for years, making you feel like the last person running the marathon. I understand how it feels.

Before your bad habits become a reason for troll, here are five tips for your New Year goals:-

Set smart goals- Set smart goals for you. Smart doesn’t mean innovative, clever and out of the box. If they are, it is icing on the cake, but realistically they should be specific, measurable, achievable and time driven. It helps in evaluating the performance taking your goals to a new level.

Chunk your goals into smaller steps

Remember Rome was not won in a day. Chunk your goals on a daily basis, making the target look achievable, take it slowly and steadily. It keeps you rejuvenated and let the adrenaline rush flow in the veins. Set small targets every day.

Make your goal visible

What’s the point of writing your goals on paper, when it will lie on attic on gusted somewhere in a drawer? Instead, use card board to write down your goals and fix them in front of your study table. Every time you see the cardboard, you will be reminded of your goals and deadlines.

Keeps your eyes on the bigger picture

Keep working towards your goals step by step, but always keep your eyes on the bigger picture. Evaluate your performance over a stipulated time. If performed above par, pat your back and reward yourself. If not, pull up your socks and keep moving.
